THE WORLD HERITAGE SITE & ARCHAEOLOGICAL TREASURE OF NORTH BENGAL WITH SUNDARBAN

(Dhaka-Rangpur-Bogra-Rajshahi-Mongla-Sundarban-Bagerhat-Dhaka)

 

 

 

(Tour itinerary -07 Nights / 08 Days)


Day-01: Meet & Transfer to hotel, PM old Dhaka city tour

Pick up from airport & transfer to hotel. If time permits our guide will take you to the most interesting sites like Majestic Pink Palace (Ahsan Manjil), Lalbag Fort built in 1678 during Mughol Dynasty and the Famous Dhakeshweri Mandir (Hindu Temple), Curzon Hall, Shahid Minar, National Mosque, Star Mosque etc. On your return visit the National assembly building. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day-2: Dhaka / Rangpur (drive 335 km / 05 hrs)

Early in the morning we’ll drive towards Rangpur, passing through the panoramic landscape and the World’s 11th longest bridge, the Jamuna Bridge. Upon arrival in Rangpur we’ll check in at the Rangpur Parjatan Hotel and also have lunch. After lunch we’ll visit the Kantajer Temple, the most spectacular monument with fabulous terracotta embellishment located north of Dinajpur Town. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day-3: Rangpur / Bogra (drive 106 km / 1.5 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Bogra, where will first visit the Mohasthangarh fortified city of 4th century BC and the Museum. Mohasthangarh is the oldest settlement and the most prominent archaeological site of Bangladesh. The rich archaeological museum of Mohasthangarh has a rare collection of antiquities, terracotta objects with many other relics recovered from the site. After lunch drive to Paharpur and visit the largest Buddhist Monastery, which is a World Heritage Site (WHS). The Paharpur Museum has got the rich collection of a terracotta plaques, images of different gods & goddesses, relics, copper plates and other objects recovered by excavation. Overnight stay at Parjatan hotel.

Day-4: Bogra / Rajshahi (264 km / 4.5 hrs)
We drive this morning to Rajshahi. En route we’ll have lunch and also visit the Puthia Rajbari, where some of the finest and historically important Hindu Mandir and the beautiful historical Rajbari (King’s Palace) is located, different mosques and other historical sites, before reaching Rajshahi. Rajshahi is famous for its silk producing industry, but the culturally rewarding site is the Barindra Research Museum, which is one of the richest museums in the sub-continent. A leisurely walk on the banks of great Padma River will end our day. Overnight stay at Rajshahi Parjatan Hotel.

Day-05: Rajshahi / Mongla (325 km)
After breakfast start journey towards Mongla via Natore. Reach Mongla in the late afternoon. Overnight stay at Mongla.

Day 06 : Sundarban

Morning start cruising the Sundarbans forest, the world’s largest mangrove forest and the home of Royal Bengal Tigers, crocodiles various other wild animals and enchanting birds. En-route stopping at Dhangmari forest station. Cruising will continue for about 2/3 hours through the rivers and canals of the deep forest. Return back to Mongla & overnight.

Day 07: Mongla / Bagerhat / Dhaka
After breakfast drive to Bagerhat by car to visit the historical sixty tomb Mosque. The world heritage site along with other historical places of nearby areas. After lunch drive to Dhaka. Arrive Dhaka late evening. Overnight.

Day 08: Departure transfer to airport
Morning shopping trip till departure transfer. Visit the most popular shopping centers and exotic Bazars and take a shower of masses. The shops we offer are Arong – a wonderful handicraft shop, Sopura silk – most popular silk cloth brand in Bangladesh, antique market – where you will find different product and products made of brass metal, Westic – a very popular garments shop to the foreigners specially.
